Srinagar: Clashes erupted between forces and locals in north Kashmir’s Handwara after a man was killed by an army vehicle in Chowgal area of the town.
As per reports assistant director forest protection force Handwara Ajaz Rasool Wan’s car was hit by a speeding army vehicle in Chowgal area on Monday afternoon.
Adding that Aijaz, a resident of Sopore, died on the spot.
Soon after the incident, residents of the area took to the streets and staged a massive protest against the army.
However, police reached the spot and fired some tear gas shells to disperse the protesters, leading to clashes.
