Following fresh snowfall Kashmir highway closed for traffic

Srinagar; The Jammu-Srinagar highway has been closed by the authorities following the fresh snowfall near the Jawahar tunnel, the route connecting the valley to rest of the world.

In the next 24 hours the meteorological department has predicted snowfall in valley and rainfall in Jammu division.

The vehicular movement will not be allowed on the highway today for sake of public safety.

The travelers are informed not to carry out the journey without confirming the status of the road from the traffic helplines in Jammu and Srinagar.

However the fresh updates will be made after improvement in the weather, reports said.

Meanwhile, the Mughal road which connects Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch.
