Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday condemned the action done by the government forces on people of southern Kashmir for taking part in the last rites of militants.

Taking to social media site Twitter, Mirwaiz said that firing live ammunition and pellets on the common people for taking part in funerals is unIslamic and undemocratic, but is also an inhuman act which needs to condemn.

He expressed sadness over the action of the government forces in which scores of people were injured including women during clashes.

Earlier, thousands gathered on Sunday at the native village of Zeenat-ul Islam, a commander of Al Badr outfit, who was killed in an encounter with the government forces on Saturday evening in Yaripora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, along with his associate.
