Srinagar: Several structures were damaged inside a CRPF camp after the structure caught fire  in  Zainakote area of Srinagar last night.

As per reports  fire broke out at the CRPF camp of 44 Battalion on the intervening night of 8 and 9 January damaging several structures located inside the camp.

Due the immediate action of the fire fighting tenders, the fire was brought under control before it could cause further damage.

“The fire, which engulfed the 02 semi-permanent structures, was doused only after around two hours. A sizable quantity of govt as well as regimental stores and structures were damaged,” a CRPF official was quoted as saying by The Kashmiriyat.

The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit.
