Drug peddler arrested with six kilograms of ‘charas’ from Ganderbal: Police

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police Tuesday claimed to have  arrested a drug peddler in Waliyar Lar area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and recovered six kilograms of Charas from his possession.

In a statement issued here a police spokesperson said that acting on a specific tip-off, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Lar Inspector Nisar Hurrah accompanied by Naib-Tehsildar Lar Shri Farooq Ahmad raided a house at Chanthan Gulabpora on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmed Poswal. “While searching the house six kilograms of Charas was recovered from the possession of accused person namely Naseer Ahmad Qureshi son of Abdul Aziz.” he said.


Adding that  a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Lar and investigation taken up.
