Srinagar: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday said that the doors are open for the youth to come forward, join and put forward their suggestions to take the Kashmir Movement forward and strength it, he also appealed youth not to get swayed by any agenda.
Mirwaiz was addressing devotees in the historic Jamia Masjid following the desecration of it’s pulpit last Friday by some unknown youth who waved IS flags and raised pro-ISIS slogans on the pulpit of the mosque
The Joint Resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik today strongly condemned the act and said that linking Kashmir to some global agenda is unacceptable and will not be allowed.
While Geelani addressed the gathering through a telephonic call, Yasin Malik and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq were present inside the mosque.
Mirwaiz while taking to his twitter handle said:“As #JamaMasjd today on #YoumEtaqadus,JRL re-emphasised upon the tremendous sacrifices being offered by the nation,men,women children especially our youth for the achievement of the fundamental right to self-determination.Any effort to weaken this movement by diverting its course,” he wrote.
In another Tweet Mirwaiz said that linking the ongoing freedom struggle to any global agenda is unacceptable , “Linking it to some global agenda is unacceptable &will not be allowed.leadership appeals to youth not to get swayed by it.Our doors are open to our youth to come forth & join in &put forward their suggestions and take on taking the KashmirMovement forward &strengthening it.”
