Cold waves continues in Valley, Drass records coldest night at -28°

After a break with rain and snowfall, Kashmir again reaches below freezing point. Gulmarg, one of the famous winter tourist resorts of Kashmir froze at minus 12 degree Celsius while as another famous pilgrimage place in south Kashmir, Pahalgam witnessed a low of minus 13 degree Celsius.

The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded temperature minus 1.4 degree Celsius. Drass area of Kargil witnessed the coldest night of the state at minus 28.7-degree Celsius and minus 10.1-degree Celsius the maximum.


While as lowest temperature in Kargil was minus 20.7 degree Celsius, Leh recorded minus 15.5 degree Celsius as the minimum temperature on Sunday.

While as in Jammu division the maximum temperature was recorded at 4.1 degree Celsius, while the lowest temperature was recorded at minus 3.4 degree Celsius in Bhaderwah followed by Batote at minus 2.7degree Celsius.

MeT department has predicted dry weather for the next three days saying that minimum temperature may further drop.
