Cold wave continues in Kashmir, Dras freezes at minus 19.7 degree Celsius

Srinagar: The minimum temperatures again fell below freezing point in Kashmir and parts of Jammu after a slight rain and snow fall in parts of valley on Wednesday.

As per the official reports, Gulmarg, the famous winter tourist resort of Kashmir froze at minus 8.5 degree Celsius while as  Pahalgam  in south Kashmir witnessed a low of minus 7.3 degree Celsius.


The capital city Srinagar recorded temperature slightly above zero as 0.2 degree Celsius. In north Kashmir’s Kupwara area, the temperature was minus 2.3 degree Celsius.

Drass area of Kargil witnessed the coldest night of the state where it was minus 19.7 degree Celsius.

While as in Jammu division the lowest temperature was recorded as minus 1.9 degree Celsius in Bhaderwah followed by Banihal at minus 0.4 degree Celsius.
