Srinagar: Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Thursday hoped that the accused of horrific rape and murder of 8-year-old Kathua girl are punished.
Hitting out at the BJP the PDP president said that the rape was communalised by BJP as they staged protests in favour of rapists, “Today marks a year since the horrific rape & murder of an eight year old girl in Kathua. Sadly , instead of condemning such a gruesome incident, BJP lawmakers staged protests in favour of the rapists. Even a crime like rape was communalised & passions were stoked to justify it.” She tweeted.
Mehbooba who headed the state when the minor was raped and brutally murdered further said that she tried her best as a chief minister that justice was done,“As a CM I tried my best to ensure justice was done. Can only hope that the accused are punished severely so that no other girl has to endure such pain and trauma.” She wrote.
