JRL calls for 3-day strike, people’s march to tell India ‘kill all at once’

Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) called for a three day shutdown starting from Saturday after the civilian killings near Pulwama gunfight site.

Seven civilians were killed during protests near the gunfight site in which three militants were killed in gunfight with the government forces.

In a tweet posted by Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, he said that the from “today onwards for three days mourning and complete protest strike will be observed all across.”

Mirwaiz also called for a march to Badamibagh cantonment, saying that JRL and people will march towards Badami Bagh Army cantonment on Monday 17 December “to ask GOI [Government of India] to kill all of us at one time rather than killing us daily.”

He added, “PulwamaMassacre,Bullets and pellets rain!As Govt of India has decided to kill Kashmiri’s through its #ArmedForces who control us.”

As per reports, over 60 civilians have been injured among which some have been referred to hospitals in Srinagar.

They were injured in government forces action near the site of the gunfight at Sirnoo area, in which three militants are confirmed to dead.

In the gunfight, three militants were killed and two army soldiers injured. Earlier two civilians identified as Amir Ahmad Paul and Abid Hussain Lone, an MBA pass out from Indonesia were killed as government forces resorted to live ammunition besides pellets and tear smoke shells near the encounter site to chase away the protesters.

One army personnel succumbed to his injuries.
