He said, as quoted by the ANI, that the intelligence reports were discussed with the then center government with all elements summed by the Army before the 1999 Kargil war.

He added that all the necessary and important information related to the war was earlier discussed with the then Union Home Minister LK Advani – also was holding the position of Deputy Prime Minster.

While stressing the importance of putting all the three defence wings physically under one unified command, Lt Gen Kamal Davar opined this for “convergence in decision making ensured.”

Cautioning against the current trend of NSA being the ‘Intelligence Czar’ of the country, Davar further said it was one thing to have information but totally another to act on all available inputs.

The panelists included Lt Gen (Retd) N S Brar, Lt General (Retd) T S Shergill, UK based Brig. Justin Maciejewski, NDTV channel head Arati Singh, besides Actors Sonu Sood and Gurmeet Chaudhary. (Inputs ANI)
