Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday to mourn the killings of two Hizb ul Mujahideen militants in a gunfight with the government forces.
Two militants, Liyaqat Wani and Wajid ul Islam, residents of Pulwama district were killed in an encounter with government forces in Tikken area on Saturday morning.
Notably, in Tral area of Pulwama district, a shutdown is being observed against the killing of Jaish-e Mohammad (JeM) militant on Friday.
All shops, business hubs, and educational institutes remained closed while public transport was off the roads in the area.
Yesterday, a JeM militant was killed in a day-long gunfight by the government forces in Darganaie Gund village of Tral, in which one policeman also sustained injuries during the gunfight. Later, the slain was identified by the police as Anwar, claimed to be from Pakistan.
