Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Tuesday expressed shock over the killing of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) leader Hafizullah Mir.
Taking to the social media site Twitter, Mirwaiz said that he was shocked and deeply saddened by the Hurriyat leader’s killing, “Shocked and deeply saddened by the killing of resistance leader Hafizullah Mir of Anantnag released from jail after two years, who was being repeatedly threatened for past one month!”.
Hafizullah was killed by unknown gunmen at his home at Budhra area of Achabal of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district today morning.
Hafizullah, as per reports, was receiving death threats on phone from last few months.
Mirwaiz also condemned the harsh role of government forces on protesters in Shopian who got injured during the clashes between government forces and youth.“In the meanwhile, Indian forces pumped bullets onto protesting civilians in Nandigam Shopian not even sparing young girls three of who have critical bullet wounds! Persecution of leadership continues as Yasin Sahab is again arbitrarily detained (sic).” He tweeted.
