Cold wave grips Kashmir valley, Kargil freezes at minus 9.5

Cold wave conditions continue to grip the Kashmir Valley and the Ladakh region on Sunday as minimum temperatures stayed below the freezing point.

In Ladakh region Kargil  was the coldest where minimum temperature was minus 9.5 degrees while  Leh recorded minus 6.5 degrees Celsius .

In the capital city Srinagar minimum temperature was 0.7, while it was minus 2.0 in Pahalgam . Gulmarg froze at minus 1.2 degrees.

Jammu recorded  9.7degrees Celsius , in Batote the temperature was  7.5 degree Celsius .

The Met department has forecast cold, dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir till Thursday.
