ULB polls: Srinagar records 0.9% voting, Baramulla 35%

Following the trend set in the first two phases of polling, Srinagar is again witnessing very low voting turnout in the third phase of the Urban Local Body polls,  recording just 0.9  percent polling.

In first two phases, the Kashmir valley recorded low voting with 8% and 3% respectively.

A total of 372 candidates are in fray, 242 from Jammu, for four Municipal Committees and 130 from Kashmir valley, for our Municipal Committees.

Till 10 am Srinagar recorded the lowest turnout of 0.9%, followed by Anantnag 2.1%, meanwhile brisk polling has been reported from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district  with 35.1% people exercising their franchise.

Meanwhile Samba district of  Jammu is leading with 40.3% voting recorded .

Earlier former NC leader Junaid Mattu who resignedfrom party, and filed his papers as independent candidate casted his vote in Barzulla Srinagar.
