Manan Killing: Kupwara shuts down for the second consecutive day

Manan Wani, scholar turned militant commander, was killed on 11 October 2018 in North Kashmir.

Kupwara is observing shutdown for the second consecutive day over the killing of scholar turned militant Manan Wani, who was killed  in an encounter on Thursday with government forces along with his associate in Shatgund Village of Handwara.

Reports said that the shutdown is being observed in Kupwara, Trehgam, Handwara, Lolab and other parts of Langate constituency. Some of the adjoining areas of Kupwara also observed shutdown over the killing of  Wani.

They said that schools and colleges have also been closed as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order situation in the area.

All the roads in the frontier district  wore a deserted look and public movement was thin.
