Srinagar: Senior Hurriyat Conference (G) leader Nisar Hussain Rather was slapped with draconian Public Safety Act on Thursday and shifted to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu.
Seventy-year-old Rather is the chairman of Tehreek Wahdatul Islam and a member of Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s headed Hurriyat Conference.
Reports said that Rather was detained on 21 September when he was leading a Muharram procession and was detained in Srinagar Central Jail.
Later, he was released from the central jail and shifted to sub-jail at Kothi Bagh police station.
However, on Tuesday Rather was sent Bemina police station and today morning was slapped with PSA and shifted to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu.
Rather is a diabetic patient.
