Srinagar: Prominent Shia leader Moulana Masroor Abbas Ansari in a recent statement reiterated that Shia Muslims of Kashmir was an inseparable part of Kashmir’s ongoing ‘freedom movement’. “Imam Hussain and his companions stood for justice, fair play and freedom thus making it incumbent upon those claiming to be his followers to tread this path,” he added.
“Mourning processions are a demonstration of peoples resolve to carry forward the message of Karbala and that message is to stand for the oppressed and stand upto the oppression”, Masroor said while addressing mourners at Alamgari Bazar Chowk on Thursday.
He further denounced the treatment of police against the peaceful mourners on 8th day of Muharram and condemned filing of FIR’s against those who raised slogans for Azadi.
Notably, the peaceful mourners during their rallies flagged the portrait of slain militant commander Burhan Wani in their processions. They were seen praising the martyrdom of Imam Hussain in Karbala and the those who stand against the oppressor.
“Shia Muslims are inseparable part of Kashmir’s freedom struggle and no power on earth can shake our resolve”, Masroor who is also a senior leader of moderate Hurriyat Conference said.
