IGP pays tribute to three cops at wreath laying ceremony in Shopian

Srinagar: Wreath laying ceremony for three cops, abducted and killed by militants earlier today was held at the District Police Lines in Shopian district of South Kashmir.

The three slain cops were identified as Nisar Ahmad, Firdous Ahmad and Kuldeep Singh.

Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) S. P. Pani while speaking to the ANI said that it is a cowardice act. “We assure that action will be taken. The investigation is on, we shall bring the accused to justice,” he said.

As per a police statement, civil and police officers led by IGP S.P. Pani while paying rich tributes to the slain cops laid floral wreaths.

“Among others, DIG SKR, SSP Shopian, SSP Awantipora, SSP Kulgam, SSP Pulwama and other officers and jawans were present,” the police statement read.
