Protests erupted between government forces and youth in south Kashhmir’s Anantnag town after forces allegedly thrashed a cab driver in the area.
Right after the news of thrashing of the cab driver spread in the area, scores of people hit the roads and staged massive protests against what they termed as “highhandedness” of government forces.
Witnesses said that angry youth took to stone throwing on government forces which led to clashes between government forces and youth as forces resorted to tear gas shelling.
Earlier a driver was mercilessly beaten by army at Harnag area of Anantnag town.
Reportedly the driver was rescued only after the intervention of locals, who also raised pro Islam and pro freedom slogans.
