Police arrests 12 youths from Sopore’s Tujjar

At least a dozen youth were arrested by police in nocturnal raids in Tujjar village  of  north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports said that cops during nocturnal raids arrested more than 10  youth from their homes for their alleged involvement in stone pelting.

They said that families of the arrested youth have denied the allegations.

SSP Sopore, Javid Iqbal told The Kashmir Walla  that a dozen  youth have been arrested by the cops from Tujjar village.

“The boys were arrested last night, They had indulged in stone pelting,” Iqbal added.

On Thursday, protests broke out in Tujjar village  after  government forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the village.  Forces had to use tear smoke shells  protesters  threw stones on them.
