A spokesperson of LeT Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement issued here said, “A handful of our mujahideen engaged the combined strength of Indian paramilitary forces, SOG of JK Police and Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army in Rafiabad gunfight despite being heavily outnumbered by the massive Indian forces and superior fire power on the Indian side”.
Militants were able to inflict substantial losses on forces as a result of which special para commandos were deployed along with many more troops from Indian paramilitary, SOG of JK Police and RR of Indian Army, he said.
“The special para commandos of Indian Army had to bite dust when casualties were inflicted on them as well. In the two day gunfight, 8 para commandos were killed,” Ghaznavi said.
