Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and PDP president on Friday Mehbooba Mufti said that fiddling with article 35-A will have ‘catastrophic ramifications’ for entire India.
Mehbooba said that people across political lines are united in their fight against any dilution of article 35-A .
Mehbooba took to her twitter handle to express her views on the hearing of PILs against the validity of article 35-A, “Today people cutting across party lines & other affiliations are united in their fight against any dilution of Article 35 A. As I have already stated before, fiddling with J&Ks special status will have catastrophic ramifications for the entire country,” she wrote.
She further said that her late father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed would take great pride in the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, “My father took great pride in the special status that J&K enjoys under Article 370. He would often mention that while people of the state have made great sacrifices for larger goals, we need to safeguard what we already have.” She wrote on her Twitter handle.
The supreme court of India is set to hear the PILs against the article validity of 35A on August 6.
