Budgam parts shut to remember civilian killings of 2016

A complete shutdown is being observed in Aripanthan town of central Kashmir’s Budgam district in remembrance of the civilians killed on this day by government forces in 2016.

Reports said that all shops, business establishments  are closed in the town with very little movement of traffic on the roads.

They said that people have thronged to the homes of the slain to offer their sympathy with them.

On August 16, 2016 four civilians, Mohammed Ashraf Wani, Manzoor Ahmad Lone, Javaid Ahmad Sheikh and Javaid Ahmad Najar were killed while 6 civilians were injured after forces opened fire on protesters.
