A day after son of a policeman was abducted, three more relatives of policemen have been abducted by suspected militants on Thursday evening.
A senior police official told The Kashmir Walla that one of the abducted persons, who is himself a cop, was released half an hour later. “One of the abducted persons has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Zargar, brother of Zahoor Ahmad Zargar residence of Kangan village in Pulwama district of South Kashmir,” the official said.
Giving further details, the official said that Shabir was abducted by unknown militants at around 9:30 pm on Thursday from his house. “He was questioned and beaten up and then released at around 10pm,” he added.
His brother, Zahoor was recently promoted to constable from an SPO rank, while as Shabir himself is also in police, posted in Budgam.
The second abducted person has been identified as Mohammad Shafi Mir son of Abdul Salam Mir residence of Naman village in Pulwama district, who was abducted by unknown militants from his house at around 9pm today.
Mir is still under the captivity and his father Abdul Salam is a Head Constable posted in Kakapora.
Third person, son of a policeman, was abducted from Midoora village of south Kashmir’s Tral. He was identified as Nasir Ahmad Mir son of policeman Ghulam Hassan Mir resident of Midoora village.
Nasir was abducted after unknown gunmen barged into his residence this evening, confirmed a police official.
Earlier, son of a policeman was abducted by a group of masked gunmen from his residence in Pinglish village of Tral last night. He is a son of a policeman Rafiq Ahmad Rather and his family has appealed for his release.
