Three JeM militants arrested along with arms, ammunition: Police

Srinagar: Sopore police on Monday claimed to have  busted a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) module by arresting three ‘hardcore’ active members of the militant  organization during  checking at Haritar and Yarbugh Rafiabad areas.

In  a statement issued here, the spokesperson said that  acting on a credible input, a joint team of governmnet forces laid a naka at Haritar area today.

He said that during checking, a suspicious person was apprehended and during preliminary questioning, he revealed his identity as Bilal Ahmad Kaloo son of Ab Rehman Kaloo resident of Takiabal Sopore.

Bilal  is an active member  of proscribed militant outfit JeM .”Two  grenades, a Matrix sheet of JeM outfit were recovered from his possession. In this regard a case FIR number 65/2018 under section   7/25 A. Act,  13 ULA Act,  has been registered in Police Station Tarzoo and investigation has been taken up.” The spokesperson said.

He said that  two more active members of JeM outfit were apprehended by Sopore Police with the assistance of government forces during naka checking at  Yarbugh Rafiabad, “They were identified as Asif Sheikh son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh and Abdul Majeed Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, both residents of Yarbugh Rafiabad.” He said.

He said that one hand Grenade, four rounds  of AK47 and two  Matrix sheets of JeM Outfit were recovered from their possession, “A case FIR number 92/2018 under section 7/25 A. Act, 13 ULA Act  has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been taken up.” The spokesperson added.
