The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a shutdown tomorrow against the shifting of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chief Asiya Andrabi and her two associates to New Delhi by National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Andrabi and her two associates Nahida Nasreen and Fahmeeda Sofi were formally arrested by NIA in Srinagar and shifted to Delhi.
Asiya and her associates were already detained in central jail Srinagar.
All three were produced before District and Sessions Judge Poonam Bamba in New Delhi.
During the in-camera proceedings, the judge allowed the plea of the NIA that all three were required to be quizzed as investigation has revealed that by their activities in cyber space they “are running a concerted campaign to solicit support” from militant entities from Pakistan.
The NIA had sought the custody for 15 days and the court has granted 10 days custody.
The NIA has been investigated various other resistance leaders from Kashmir, many of whom are currently lodged in Delhi’s Tihar jail.
