Opening bastman Fakhar Zaman on Friday became the first Pakistani cricketer to score a double century in one day international cricket during fourth ODI against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo.
The dashing Pakistani scored the double ton in 148 deliveries thus becoming only sixth international cricketer to achieve the feat.
Earlier, in the day the opening duo of Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq broke the record of highest opening partnership by scoring 304 runs for the first wicket.
In the process Fakhar became Pakistan’s highest scorer by surpassing elegant left handed batsman Saeed Anwar’s individual record of 194 runs.
Before this game the 28-year-old had an average of 59.23 . With a double hundred he has taken his ODI average to 75 plus.
Earlier after opting to bat first Pakistan scored 399 for 1 which is their highest score in an ODI innings. The previous highest innings score for them was 385 for 7 against Bangladesh in 2010.
