At least seven people have been killed in a suicide attack on a mosque in Konduga town in the country’s north Nigerian officials said, Associated Press reported.
Bello Dambatta, Head of Rescue Operations of Borno State Emergency Management Agency, was quoted as saying by AP that seven others were injured. He said the dead and injured have been evacuated to medical facilities in Maiduguri, about 30 kilometers away.
Dambatta told AP that the suicide bomber pretended to join early morning prayers on today before detonating his explosives.
The attack comes after the arrests of about 22 Boko Haram extremist leaders and fighters said to be responsible for the mass kidnapping of schoolgirls in Chibok and more than 50 suicide bombings.
