Video | School boy shot dead, funeral amid wails

A fourteen-year-old boy Faizan Ahmad Khan was today shot dead by the government forces near the gunfight between militants and the forces in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Khan, a class 9th student at MeI School in Pampore, is son of Dr. Abdul Gani Khan from Khrew Pampore. Authorities at the District Hospital Pulwama had confirmed his killing earlier today. More than a dozen civilians also were injured in the on going clashes at the gunfight site.

Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while condemning the killing took to Twitter, saying, “As operation “wipe out” by Govt forces against Kashmiris continues unabated,one more civilian,16 yr old Faizan Ahmad Khan, resident of Khrew Pampore Killed by forces as live ammunition and pellets were used to disperse protesters in Chatpora Pulwama,Dozens injured!”

Meanwhile, the gunfight is still on between the militants, who are believed to be three in number, and the forces at Chatpora area of the district.
