Shehla Rashid slammed the BJP-PDP ‘break-up’ labelling it as ‘nothing but a staged drama’. Targeting the central government, Rashid stated that if the “failure of govt” is the reason for BJP to have broken the alliance, then they should do so at the Centre as well because the Modi government is a total failure on all counts.

Earlier in the day, BJP walked out of the alliance in the state government, leaving the state in a crippled situation- once again.

In a statement issued, Rashid said, “They are fleeing, in order to erase their sins and escape questions from the public.” Thrashing the BJP-PDP, she said that the alliance has been fooling people in the name of “agenda of alliance” shamelessly holding on to power despite the failures on political, social and economic fronts.

Rashid also stated that the foundation of the alliance was betrayal in itself. She added, “Countless civilians have been killed in the name of sham operations such as “Operation All Out”. When civilians were being killed and blinded with pellets, PDP let the people down by holding on to this unholy alliance.”

Referring to the press conference Mehbooba Mufti held in the evening, Rashid said that it is shameful that Ms Mehbooba Mufti now talks about humane policy as opposed to muscular policy.

Targetting the economic policies, she blamed the state govt has borrowed huge sums of money from the centre in order to be able to fund its development budget.

Referring to the BJP’s statements, she said that it is clear that they intend to rule the state through the Governor.
