Border Firing: Pakistan has shown no respect for holy month, says Mehbooba Mufti

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti tweeted in the response to the cross-border firing in the Jammu region,  and said, “Pakistan has shown no respect whatsoever for this holy month.”  Mufti asked Pakistan to contribute to efforts for lasting peace. She also expressed her condolences to the families of the victim. 4 civilians and a BSF trooper are killed by now.

Earlier this week, the central government promulgate the unilateral ceasefire in the valley during the month of Ramzan. Though, the Home Ministry reserved the right to retaliate to any attack with the Indian forces.

Mufti used her Twitter handle to say, “Continued firing on the border in Jammu is cause of pain & worry. Sad that while our country took the lead in starting peace initiatives with cessation of operations during Ramzan, Pakistan has shown no respect whatsoever for this holy month.”
