A day after opposition party National Conference said that separate townships for Kashmiri Pandits will not be allowed, Kashmiri Pandits on Sunday held a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi demanding their rehabilitation in the Valley.
Members of the community gathered in large numbers at Jantar Mantar demanding that the State and the Centre take them into confidence before any decision on their return to the Valley. They also demanded that the Jammu and Kashmir government reopen prosecution cases against all who involved in the killings of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley.
The protesters shouted slogans against Hurriyat and other separatist leaders and asked for their immediate arrest.
“Every day we are listening to one proposal or another about Kashmiri Pandits, but the government does not ask us what we want. I request the government of India whatever it has to decide about us, please ask us,” Business Standard quoted a protester at Jantar Mantar.
