Injured Pakistani prisoner dies in India: Pak Media

The Pakistani prisoner, Sanaullah Haq, in India who was critically injured after being beaten by another inmate at Kot Balwal jail of Jammu, passed away on Saturday, the DawnNews of Pakistan reported.

However, there was no official confirmation from either the Pakistani High Commission or the Indian High Commission yet.

Doctors at the hospital in Chandigarh where Sanaullah was being kept are scheduled to brief the media at 6 pm Indian time.

Haq was said to have been in a coma. On Saturday the doctors attending him at PGI, Chandigarh, said in a health bulletin that he was on ventilator support and his blood pressure was being maintained with the help of medicines.

The attack had come a day after a convicted Indian prisoner, Sarabjit Singh, died after being attacked by a few jail inmates in Lahore, Pakistan. Singh was on death row.
