Five people have got injured in the protests and stone throwing post Friday prayers in Srinagar’s downtown area. The protests started soon after the Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Chairman of Hurriyat Conference led a protest demonstration around the central mosque of the summer capital. Mirwaiz was released after 45 days of house arrest. While addressing the demonstration, he termed Afzal Guru’s hanging as a “political execution” and urged people to follow joint coordination group of separatists- Mutahid Majlis-e-Mushawarat (MMM) programs.
