Jammu and Kashmir police has registered cases against more than 9,000 persons, particularly the youth that has been participating in anti-India and pro-freedom activities since 2009 to 2013. Police data maintains that from January 2009 till December 2013, the police registered around 1,800 cases against more than 9,000 persons for taking part in various demonstrations held across the Kashmir Valley.
