Having come under sharp criticism for evoking Public Safety Act (PSA) against Hurriyat (G) leader Masarat Alam Bhat, the People’s Democratic Party have come out in defense of the decision saying there is a line  for separatists and they shouldn’t cross it. Speaking on the issue senior PDP leader and Education Minister Naeem Akhtar told Mail Today. “Masarat Alam Bhat did something unacceptable and left us without any option. Lawyer of jailed Hurriyat (G) leader Masarat Alam, Shabir Ahmed Bhat has alleged that the government is using Public Safety Act as a tactic to keep Alam behind bars. “The government failed to produce any evidences against Masrat Aalam during the trial in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Budgam on Wednesday and the chances were bright that he would be bailed out on Saturday. The Peoples Democratic Party of Jammu and Kashmir has expressed grief over the killing of a teenager by paramilitary forces in Budgam district. “Bullets are no answer to stones and it is high time for the forces to follow the standard operating procedure (SOP). Senior political leader from Kashmir, Moulvi Iftikhar Ansari, passed away on Tuesday after a brief spell of illness. Ansari, from People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was the party’s representative from Pattan area of North Kashmir.  He was also a spiritual figure in the region. He was taken to New Delhi for treatment.
