An earthquake of 7.4 magnitude jolted Nepal today afternoon at 12.35 pm. Tremors were also felt across North India including, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Reuters reported that the quake’s epicentre was close to Everest Base Camp in Nepal. Tremors caused panic among the People in Kathmandu, who immediately rushed outdoors for safety. However, there were no immediate reports of any damage or casualties. The USGS has also reported about another quake with its epicentre in Afghanistan measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale.

The massive earthquake of 7.9 magnitude that hit Nepal on Saturday has left more than 1,807 people dead and 4,721 injured. The quake has killed 70 in Rasuwa, 57 in Kavre, 40 in Gorkha, 35 in Dhading, 10 in Okhaldhunga, nine in Makwanpur, six in Sunsari and two each in Bhojpur and Solukhumbu. Nearly 550 Indians have been evacuated by the IAF from earthquake-hit Nepal. Death toll  in the massive earthquakes that rocked Nepal Saturday has risen to 618. Tremors of the quake which measured 7.9 on the Richter scale were felt in Bangladesh, Pakistan and in the northern states of India including Delhi, NCR, Bihar, and West Bengal.

An official of the Nepal home ministry confirmed the death toll on an Indian News channel. He said there had been massive damage at the epicentre.

In North and eastern part of India and at least 23 people have died in India due to the massive earthquake that hit Nepal, Money Control reported.

The epicentre of the earthquake is in Lamjung in Nepal.

Five people, including two children, were killed when buildings collapsed in different parts of Bihar following a massive earthquake that hit several places across India and Nepal on Saturday. Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs says more than 150 people have died in the capital, Kathmandu, following a 7.9 magnitude earthquake, CNN reported. The epicentre of the earthquake is in Lamjung in Nepal. Nitish Kumar, who reached Delhi on Friday evening, is expected to soon return to Patna.
