The Jammu and Kashmir police today detained Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik and social activist Swami Agnivesh, who were on way to Narbal on the outskirts of Srinagar where a youth was killed on Saturday morning in paramilitary forces’ firing.

Earlier, Malik, who was on a 30-hour long hunger strike in Srinagar, was joined by Swami Agnivesh against the government’s plan of separate townships for the displaced Kashmiri Pandits in the valley.

The situation meanwhile continues to remain tense in the valley.
