Death toll in soaring heatwave sweeping across India has crossed 1,400, CNN reported. With temperatures nearing 50C, nearly 12, 00 people have died in the worst-hit state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Deaths have also been reported in Odisha, West Bengal, Gujarat and some other parts of the country. “The heat wave is likely to subside marginally on Thursday and Friday, when stray dust storms or thundershowers are expected. A suicide bomber has attacked a Shiite mosque in Qatif province in Saudi Arabia, killing and wounding several people.
