Srinagar: Incessant rains lashed the Jammu and Kashmir for fourth consecutive day, the state disaster response force (SDRF) and police have been assisting to evacuate thousands of people from flood -hit areas. According to the reports nearly 50 villages and parts of Srinagar are badly hit by flood water. Hundreds of people in flood -hit area were forced to evacuate their homes and have been shifted to safer places. “We have dispatched 100 boats to Jammu and Kashmir for evacuation of people,” said official. “The rainfall was extremely heavy and no matter how prepared you are, extreme weather like this

Photographs by Shahid Tantray SRINAGAR: Flash flood and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall have claimed 65 lives so far in the state, 45 people were killed after a vehicle they were traveling in was washed away by flash flood in Rajouri district on Thursday. However, 20 people were killed in Kashmir due to rain related incidents since the rain and flash flood started in the Valley. According to the police sources, the bus went out of drivers control and plunged into the river near Noushera town of district Rajouri.
