A protest march was organized in Kargil on Saturday to express solidarity with the Ismaili Shia community whose 44 members were shot dead in a terrorist attack in Karachi Pakistan on Wednesday.

The protest call was given by Imam Khomeni Memorial Trust (IKMT) and other religious and political bodies.

A large number of people attended the protest march that was led by MLA Kargil Asghar Ali Karbalai and Chairman Imam Khomeni Memorial Trust Sheikh Muhammad Muhaqiq.

Carrying placards and banners, the protesters demanded stern action against the terrorists. Speaking on the occasion, Karbali said innocent Shias are being gunned down on the streets of Karachi on a daily basis. “This brutal incident has exposed the failure of enforcement agencies establishing peace in Pakistan,” he said.

He further said that this tragedy has made it clear for everyone to see that the real criminal elements and terrorists were free to operate and their target is the people from Shia community.

Chairman IKMT Sheikh Muhmmad Haqiq asked the government of Pakistan to ensure the safety of Shia community in the country. He asked the Pakistan to ensure the arrest of attackers and also reset the course of Karachi operation to put the actual criminals behind bars.
