A Bhartiya Janta Party leader and member of legislative assembly from Madhya Pradesh, Rameshwar Sharma, has kicked-off a fresh controversy by saying that Muslims should taste cow urine and sing Vande Mataram, if they want to enter Garba festival.
He made the statement at a meeting with Hindu Utsav Samiti in Bhopal, Zee News reported.
He also added that the Muslims who want to enter the venue should be accompanied by their female family members as it will ensure they will conduct themselves well and not eye Hindu girls, the report added.
Earlier, another BJP MLA from the state, Usha Thakur had told reporters that organisers of ‘garba’ should only allow Hindu youths to enter the pandals and that too on production of their voter identity cards.
Congress has condemned the controversial remarks made by the BJP leaders.
