The crime graph against the women in Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing an upward trend with more than four thousand people detained and over more than two thousand cases of violence against women registered since past five years.
According to KNS correspondent, in Jammu city, more than 1250 people have been detained in this regard while as in Srinagar, the number of persons detained was 439.
In Srinagar there are as many as 255 cases registered over the crime against the women while action in this regard has been taken against 439 persons. In Budgam, there were 17 cases and action against 23 persons. In Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal, 12 cases were registered in the past five year while as the action was taken against 44 people.
In South Kashmir’s Anantnag, there were as many as 29 cases of crime against women registered and action in this regard was taken against 72 persons.
In North Kashmir’s Kupwara area, there were 28 cases registered and 32 persons detained. In Bandipora, there were 26 persons against whom the state authorities took action while as the cases in this regard registered were 26 in number.
In Baramulla, there were 71 acses and 91 persons detained over the violence committed against women.
In Jammu, there were 455 cases and 1247 persons detained. In Samba the number of persons detained was 103 while as the cases registered were 38 in number. In Udhampur, there were as many as 204 persons against which action was taken over committing violence against women. In Doda, the number was 551 while as cases registered were 325. In Kishtwar, there were 60 cases and 178 persons detained. Similarly, in Ramban, there were 38 cases and 75 persons detained.
