Thousands attend Islamic Peace Conference in Kashmir

The family members of known world Islamic scholar and president Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) Dr. Zakir Naik today spoke at the Kashmir University during a seminar about women, titled “Srinagar Islamic Peace Conference – 2014” that included a lecture by Naik’s wife Farhat Zakir Naik.

The conference was organized by Feroz Peerzada, managed by Loud Beetle – an event management company based in Kashmir. According to the organisers, the audience present in the convocation hall of the varsity was more than the seating capacity of 2500. “The number of audience was more than the seating capacity, around 4000 people. So, we allowed people to sit on the hall floor and stairs,” one of the organisers told The Kashmir Walla.

The conference was about the changing trends of life style among the women in Kashmir, the organizers said, during which several members from the audience had queries related to the women in Kashmir. “The conference was arranged in view of the growing trends of western life style in Kashmir and the related issues coming to fore due to the same.”

The organizers had allowed only women to listen to the speakers.
