Protests in India against Israel’s attack on Gaza

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Delhi, India, outside the Israeli embassy, to protest against Israel’s attack on Gaza, Palestine in which close to 100 people have died so far, including children and women. The protesters, waving Palestinian flags and raising slogans, carried placards, demanding Israel to stop attacks on people of Gaza.

The November 19 protest call was given by students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students and it brought together students and teachers of Jamia Milia Islamia university, Delhi university and some locals too. The members of several people’s groups also joined the protests.

An effigy of Israeli President, Benjamin Netanyahu was also burnt infront of the embassy, barricaded by the huge contingent of Delhi police. Protestors were not allowed to go close to the embassy.
