Baramulla, June 20: A six-year-old child was killed today when a motor cycle was hit by a construction machine, towed to a load carrier, which was coming from Baramulla near Khawaja Bagh.
The load carrier bears registration number: JK05B 9481 to which the machine was towed by some polythene rope at rear-side. While moving near the Government Degree College, Baramulla, the machine slipped off the vehicle. It collided with the motor cycle bearing registration number: JK01F 6003, which was coming from the opposite direction.
The motor cycle rider, Showkat Ahmed Bhat was seriously injured along with his sister-in-law, Rubeena Akhtar while her seven year old son, Kehan Rashid Bhat died on spot. They belong to Shah Mohhalla, Pattan.
The child was hit in the head and which resulted in broken skull. Bhat and his sister-in-law were sent to district hospital, Baramulla but they were later shifted to S K Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura.
The body of child was sent for autopsy and police have lodged an FIR: 126/2011 under section 304(A), 279, 337 RPC at police station, Baramulla.
Mohammad Khalid, Station House Officer, Baramulla told The Kashmir Walla that the driver of the load carrier has been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Channa of Azad Gunj, Baramulla, “The accused is absconding since the accident; however, we have detained his father. Both the vehicles have been seized for mechanical check-up. We are investigating the case.”
